Top 5 Wedding Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

October 24, 2016

Your wedding is a very special day and you want everything to be perfect. As you are planning the details think about what you want your day to look like. Brides often get caught up in a few issues that hold them back from having the perfect day or create so much anxiety they do not enjoy the planning.

  1. Brides think that they need to be the ones to coordinate the schedule. They wind up doing too much including coordinating vendors that day and wind up handling problems rather than enjoying their own wedding. Having someone on board to help you with the details on the day of your wedding can make a significant difference. I can help you stay on schedule the day of your wedding.
  2. You think everything will go as planned. Unfortunately just because you sign a contract and pay for a service that vendor might not deliver on-time or even as promised. You need one person handling the details to ensure your day runs smoothly. Having backup plans in place for when things go wrong can help. Given my experience coordinating weddings I can solve these problems so you can still enjoy your day.
  3. Brides often forget to enjoy the day. Believe it or not they need someone to remind them to take a minute and just relax into the excitement. This includes putting on your dress, the walk down the aisle, cutting the cake, and having your first dance.
  4. Saying “lets extend the party!” When the party is in full swing you and your guests are having a wonderful time. So fun in fact that as the clocks strikes the last 15 minutes the caterer asks if you want to extend the party for an hour and you agree to pay the charges for the venue and bar and to keep the music playing. The problem, guests are ready to go home and while they may stay an extra 15-30 minutes the extra time usually exhausts everyone. Better to end the event on a high note.
  5. Not doing trial runs can be a problem. On the day of your wedding you do not want to hear from your hairstylist “oh, I’ve never worked with this type of headpiece before.” Take the time before your big day to work through the steps of your hair and make-up. At your final fitting have the seamstress show you and a friend how to bustle your dress. And make sure to break in your shoes to avoid any pain.

I want your day to be as magical as possible. These tips will help you avoid problems. I am available to help you coordinate the day of your wedding so your schedule goes according to plan, your vendors stay on time, and when unexpected hitches come up I handle them with ease so you continue to enjoy your wedding day.
